5 December Film Show: On Sale Now
PHCL Film Show presents
Let’s do the Time Warp again . . .
The Rocky Horror Show
Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Patricia Quinn
Directed by Jim Sharman
USA 1975 96 minutes
If a musical sci-fi satire about an alien transvestite named Frank-n-Furter, who is building the perfect man while playing sexual games with his virginal visitors, sounds like an intriguing premise for a movie, then you're in for a treat. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is all this and more, and has become one of the ultimate cult films of all time. A 40th anniversary screening packed out the Albert Hall with a riotous audience hell-bent on participation, and rowdy showings still happen constantly throughout Britain and the USA. The songs are addictive, the raunchiness outrageous and amusing, the plot line ridiculous and the cast irresistible. The inimitable Tim Curry stars as our "sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania", Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick play demure Janet and uptight Brad, who get lost in a storm and find themselves stranded at Frank-n-Furter's mansion, Meat Loaf features as the rebel Eddie, and Primrose Hill’s very own Patricia Quinn is unforgettable as Magenta.
If you’re looking for an alternative Christmas panto that offers good, old-fashioned fun, this screening is the event for you.
