Joining the Library/ FAQ

Becoming a member of Primrose Hill Community Library is free!

All you have to do is show us ID with your address on (a utility bill or driving license etc) and fill out a quick form to get a new library card.

What can I borrow from the library?

You can borrow books for 3 weeks, quick choice items for 2 weeks and children’s dvd’s for 1 week.

Children can take out 8 books and Adults can take out 4 books.

You can renew books via phone: 020 7419 6599 although you will be unable to renew an item if it has been reserved.

Charges:

Adult fine: 30p per book per day

Children’s DVDs: £1 a week

To reserve an item currently borrowed by another user: free

Lost card: £2

Lost book: Cost of replacement

Photocopying and Computers:

We have a photocopier behind the counter and are happy to photocopy on your behalf. We charge 10p a page for A4 and 15p a page for A3 black & white, 50p a page for A4 colour and £1 for  A3 colour.

We also have adult and children’s computers to use in the library. The first hour a day is free for adults, further time is a £1 an hour. The children’s computers are free all day.

If you wish to print from the computers we charge 10p a page A4 for black and white and 50p a page for A4 colour.

Notice board:

We have a community noticeboard in the entrance to the library. If you would like to put up a notice we charge £1 a week.

Hiring the Library:

The Library space is available to hire for adult and children’s classes and talks. We also have space on Sundays if you are looking for somewhere to host a party. For more information on hiring the space please contact  events@phcl.org or phone 020 7419 6599
