Carried Away with the Carnival with Ed Boxall
Come along to the library on the morning of Saturday 29 April to see author Ed Boxall give a performance based on his book Carried Away with the Carnival, a mix of storytelling, music, poetry and lots of movement. A little boy goes to the carnival with his grandad, and gets carried away on a fantastic adventure including bright dragons, thundering drums, a mermaid, and the ‘giant scary strong woman’. Free. Ed Boxall is an illustrator, writer and performer. He’s also a freelance teacher and has been running workshops based on his writing and illustrating for 15 years. He has often told this story in schools. It is perfect for sharing—full of detail, excitement, a little danger, and a lot of love. He has recently written and illustrated Me and my Alien Friend: Cosmic Poems about Friendship for Troika, which was chosen for the Summer Reading Challenge in 2019 and was praised for its empathy and sensitivity.
