Author Talk: Simon Brett in conversation with Ted Taylor
Edward “Ted” Taylor was one of the great comedy producers in BBC radio. He wrote The Men from the Ministry and was responsible for creating many other programmes, including Does the Team Think?. He has also written stage plays, one of which, a crime thriller called Murder by Misadventure, had a successful run in the West End. Now, at the age of ninety, he has written a memoir about his professional and personal life. Entitled — appropriately — Ninety Years in a Quandary, it’s a fascinating insight into a very rich period of British show business. He is in conversation at the library with Simon Brett, who was a former colleague as a radio producer and is also a crime writer.
