Ukraine: Life in Wartime

Join us for an evening of discussion from a photographer and an aid worker who both worked in Ukraine during the war. Ada Wordsworth will be talking about the humanitarian aid work being carried out in the region by KHARPP and Richard Morgan will be showcasing and discussing his photography series Everyday Life in Wartime Ukraine.

Ada Wordsworth is the founder of KHARPP, a grassroots project which began providing refugee support at the Polish-Ukrainian border in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion, and is now dedicated to the longterm support and rebuilding of communities in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. To date they have repaired over 500 homes damaged by fighting in the area. She has a Masters degree in Ukrainian and Russian from the University of Oxford and her writing has been published in the New York Review of Books, the Economist, and Granta, among others.

Richard Morgan is an award-winning photographer and educator of photography based in Primrose Hill. He was the 2018 CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year, 2019 Sky Arts’ Master of Photography finalist, and Photographer in Residence at Benetton’s Fabrica. Richard has worked on numerous projects in Russia, China, Poland, USA, Italy, and the UK, publishing work in The Independent, The Guardian, The Telegraph, TimeOut, Daily Mail, and Street Photography Magazine. His recent work explores the poetry of everyday life in wartime Ukraine.
